Yes, it was his grandfather, most likely. Lee Hay sent records from Wilkes Co. GA stating that "John Aylor appointed guardian of Anthony and Susannah orphans of John Aylor, dec'd." from page 251, Early Records of Georgia, Wilkes County. Although no date is given, information on page 193 gives 1805 as a year. It appears that this Anthony was too young and in the wrong place to have married in Augusta Co VA in 1797.

Norman Crook says that Anthony and Susannah mentioned here are children of Johannes John Aylor, son of Anthony, and John who was appointed guardian was their brother. So then it could have been this Anthony who married her.
